Peek-A-Phone only works on mobile devices with true satellite GPS. It does not work on the older Assist GPS devices as they do not provide useful accuracy or real time locations.
True GPS allows your mobile device to pinpoint its location by connecting to the GPS Satellites orbiting the earth. Your device can locate itself anywhere in the world. Older Assisted GPS uses triangulation from various cell phone towers and is accurate to a radius of 1.7 km, can have a lag of up to 30 minutes and only works in certain areas.
Peek-A-Phone captures your devices location and time, then stores this in a file directly on your device. Peek-A-Phone sends this file, with all your locations and times, back to our servers via your wireless data network. You can then login to your username password protected map from our website to see where your device(s) are located, how fast they are going and where they have been.
As long as your device can connect to a wireless data network and send its location file back to our servers, you will be able to map your device's location. If you are travelling, make sure that your device does have roaming privileges for data.
